We couldn’t have asked for a better way to start the week than with our joint Welcome Cocktail, hosted alongside Emerge Freight Alliance and WOF Alliance, on the evening of September 28.
Set against a vibrant Halloween backdrop, the night came alive as delegates from around the world arrived in costume, bringing creativity, laughter, and a spirited energy to the celebration. From spooky to spectacular, the outfits were a highlight of the evening and added a fun, festive flair to the networking.
The event provided a perfect opportunity for attendees to reconnect with familiar faces and forge new connections in a relaxed, engaging atmosphere.
A huge thank you to everyone who joined us and a special shoutout to our Welcome Cocktail Sponsor, Oscar Yilmaz of Logik Freight International Ltd (Australia), for making this unforgettable night possible!
Day 2 of the conference launched with a high-impact plenary session, uniting members of The Freight Summit (TFS), Emerge Freight Alliance, and WOF Alliance for a morning filled with strategic insights, community engagement, and meaningful dialogue.
Opening the session, Nils Walle, Director and Co-Founder of TFS, welcomed delegates and expressed gratitude to the event’s sponsors. He shared the conference agenda, introduced CLN Networks, and built anticipation by announcing the date and location of next year’s conference.
Taking the stage next, Melvin Xavier, Director and Co-Founder of Emerge Freight Alliance, presented key updates from the Emerge network. He also led a heartfelt Awards Ceremony, recognizing members with Loyalty Awards and honoring Top Ambassadors for their outstanding contributions and commitment.
The session then opened the floor to new voices during the Newbie Open Mic, where first-time attendees and new members from all three networks had the opportunity to introduce themselves and their companies. This interactive segment sparked fresh connections and reflected the collaborative spirit of the event.
Representing the WOF Alliance, Lubos Lukac and Barbora Arendasova delivered a concise and impactful update, sharing recent developments and growth within their community.
One of the most anticipated moments of the morning was the Keynote Address by Kunal Maheshwari, Director and Chief Growth Officer at Softlink Global Pvt. Ltd. (India). His presentation, titled “The Future of AI for Freight Forwarders,” offered forward-looking perspectives on how artificial intelligence is transforming the logistics landscape, driving efficiency, and unlocking new growth potential.
The plenary concluded with a thought-provoking panel discussion moderated by Melvin Xavier, focusing on the theme: "Opportunities and Trends in Emerging Markets - Africa, South America, and Eastern Europe."
The panel brought together industry leaders from across the globe, including Gilbert Ernest, CEO of GE International Forwarding (Australia) and TFS Partner; Andrea Cifuentes Chalarca, Overseas Director of Tavi Logistics (Mexico & Chile) and TFS Partner; Grace Kimani, Director of Toplink Consolidators (Kenya) and Emerge Member; Leonard Muriithi, Managing Director of Consoline Global Ltd. (Kenya) and Emerge Member; and Lubos Lukac, CCO of QCS Group and Regional Managing Director for Central Eastern Europe & UK at Quick Cargo Service, representing the WOF Alliance.
Together, they explored emerging opportunities, shared region-specific insights, and discussed the challenges and innovations shaping freight forwarding in some of the world's fastest-growing markets.
This dynamic session set the tone for the rest of the conference - a celebration of collaboration, innovation, and global partnership.
A cornerstone of our annual global conference is the
Face-to-Face Meetings, where TFS Partners come together with freight forwarders
from Emerge and WOF Alliance for meaningful, face-to-face interactions.
With over 230 professionals gathered from across the globe,
this event created the perfect environment to foster new relationships, spark
collaboration, and uncover exciting business opportunities. The energy and
engagement made it a truly valuable experience for everyone involved.
On Day 3 of the conference, delegates traded boardrooms for the breathtaking beauty of the Bosphorus, setting sail into the golden hues of the Istanbul sunset. In celebration of the Golden Hour theme, guests arrived dressed in warm tones of gold, beige, orange, and sunset red - creating a radiant palette that mirrored the stunning skies above.
Thanks to the generous sponsorship of Tiago Cardoso, Silvia Rocha, and Bruno Santos of NVOExpress Transitários Lda (Portugal), the evening unfolded into a truly unforgettable experience. The soft sea breeze, paired with panoramic views of Istanbul's iconic skyline, offered the perfect setting to unwind and connect beyond the conference floor.
As the sun dipped below the horizon, the atmosphere lit up with vibrant music and energy from The Velvet. Their performance brought the night to life, as delegates danced, laughed, and shared unforgettable moments under the stars.
It was more than just a cruise - it was a celebration of partnership, friendship, and the global spirit of our freight community, wrapped in the glow of the Golden Hour.
As the conference drew to a close, delegates gathered one
last time to toast to a successful week during the Closing Happy Hour. Set in a
relaxed and cheerful atmosphere, the event offered the perfect chance to
unwind, reflect, and celebrate the connections, ideas, and partnerships formed
over the past few days.
Laughter filled the air as conversations flowed freely - no
agendas, no presentations, just good company and great vibes. With refreshing
drinks in hand and new friendships forged, it was a fitting end to an unforgettable
gathering of global freight professionals.
Here’s to the journeys ahead, and until we meet again -
cheers!
